Day 190: You’re Pre-Approved – Okay, maybe not, but we got a hard pull on your credit anyways
This hasn’t happened recently as we are making sure not to allow any hard pulls for the next year on our credit, but have you ever received those 0% offers on credit cards saying that you are pre-approved (not pre-qualified – there is a difference), only to be rejected?
Well this is because the letter lags the real world by a month. If your credit has changed in anyway, for the negative to be more specific, you risk a hard credit pull and a rejection. This is why it is a good idea to monitor your credit. This will allow you to know if your report has changed in the time that one of those spicy offers was initially created for you and it actually arrives in your mailbox.
